ACoP L8 Assessments
ECB Water Solutions provide specialist Legionella risk assessments across a range of clients in both commercial and public sector to identify, eradicate and control any instances of Legionnaires Disease to ensure ACoP L8 compliance.
In the UK the Health and Safety Executive’s Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) and Guidance document titled "Legionnaires' disease: The control of legionella bacteria in water systems" (L8) gives practical advice on how to comply with UK health and safety law with respect to the control of Legionella bacteria.
This Code is important in that it has a special legal status. If you are prosecuted for a breach of health and safety law, and it is proved that you did not follow the relevant provisions of the Code, you would need to demonstrate that you have complied with the law in some other way or a Court would find you at fault.

ACoP L8 regulations state that all water systems need to be included in a Legionella Risk Assessment, with attention in particular to the following systems:
These assessments should be carried out by trained personnel especially if you are an employer or you control premesis or water systems in connection with work or your water systems are more complex and multi site.

- Hot and Cold Water Systems
- Spa Pools
- Fountains and Water Features
- Safety showers, sprinklers, vehicle wash systems
